Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and passionate developer to join our dynamic team in developing the UScanner to bring it to the next level. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and electronics, particularly in fields related to computer vision, robotics, and real-time data processing.

We are a start-up and a small team so there is the chance to be involved in a variety of activities and the opportunity to make a significant contribution to our endeavours.

Time limited:
Please be aware that the position is a temporary position and time limited to one year. There may be the possibility to extend.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain software and hardware components for the UScanner, focusing on real-time data processing and 3D point cloud generation.
  • Participate in code reviews, and documentation to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Testing software and hardware changes.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in computer vision, robotics, and underwater inspection technologies.

  • Open to address different types of challenges, whether it’s to improve our lens/camera sensor configuration or how to integrate global positioning to a SLAM algorithm


Qualifications:
  • This is our wish list - don’t be put off if you do not fulfil all of the qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in software development, with a focus on computer vision (SLAM and Structure from Motion), real-time data processing (CUDA cores) and robotic autonomous systems (ROS)
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python.
  • Familiar with Git, Docker and SW release management
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.


Nice to have:
  • Understanding of electronics, including processor, carrier boards and integration over typical interfaces eg I2C, UART.
  • Experience integrating related sensors (Camera, IMU, GPS, etc). Experience with positioning sensors such as RTK, USBL and INS would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of photogrammetry and point cloud processing.
  • Experience in 3D visualisation technologies such as Three.js and Ceasium.js
