Are you passionate about supporting early-stage technology startups? Do you enjoy coaching young entrepreneurs, facilitating workshops, and helping new ideas grow? And would you also like to contribute to DTU’s collaboration with the Danish fintech ecosystem? Then this might be the right job for you.

DTU Skylab is looking for an engaged Startup Coach & Fintech Ambassador to join our Startup Coaching Team. In this role, you will focus on coaching early-stage startups, running workshops, and supporting DTU students and researchers in their entrepreneurial development. In addition, you will contribute to DTU’s partnership with Copenhagen Fintech, scouting for relevant DTU cases to connect to activities in the fintech ecosystem.

As part of this collaboration, while based at DTU Lyngby Camppus, you will work 1–2 days per week from the Copenhagen Fintech Lab on Christianshavn, depending on activity needs..

About the Position
You will become part of a small but ambitious team working with early-stage founders across all domains at DTU. The core of your job will be:

  • Coaching startups through 1:1 sessions, helping teams navigate challenges around value proposition, customer insights, business models, and early validation
  • Running and developing workshops within early-stage startup skills

In addition to the general startup support, you will serve as DTU’s Fintech Ambassador within our partnership with Copenhagen Fintech. Here, your role is to strengthen the bridge between DTU’s entrepreneurial environment and the fintech sector, for example by: 

  • Identifying and guiding relevant fintech-oriented cases at DTU
  • Building and maintaining a fintech network with researchers and students at DTU
  • Introducing startup teams as well as students and researchers to relevant Copenhagen Fintech offerings, events, activities and projects
  • Participating in the cross-institution ambassador team and collaborating to attract funding and resources from the financial sector for research projects, hackathons, educational programs, etc

We Expect That You Have:

  • A relevant academic background
  • Experience from startups or the startup ecosystem, preferably within Fintech/Tech for Fin
  • Curiosity about fintech, digital business, or data-driven innovation (deep expertise is not required)
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, or supporting founders (formal or informal)
  • An ability to plan, facilitate, and adjust workshops
  • A structured, collaborative, and proactive work style 
  • Strong communication skills in Danish and English
  • A passion for helping young entrepreneurs and contributing to positive societal impact

Who Are We?
DTU Skylab is the innovation hub of DTU, a vibrant community supporting diverse activities such as curricular courses, company collaborations, and startup programs. Since 2013, Skylab has been an engaging and inclusive learning space with offices, teaching, event facilities, multiple workshops, and laboratories. 

We have around 60 employees in three sections, with an informal and caring culture. We can laugh and party whilst also being serious and passionate about what we do. We love our users and talking about the amazing projects in DTU Skylab, from duckweed protein products, airborne windmills, farming snails, intimate health devices, AI robots and digital services.

Salary and appointment terms
Salary and employment terms are according to the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).

The position is full-time but limited to 2 years. Desired starting date it 1 April 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Your workplace will primarily be DTU Lyngby Campus, with 1–2 days per week at the Copenhagen Fintech Lab, Christianshavn.

You will refer to the Team Lead of the Startup Coaching Team.
