Do you want to play a key role in supporting excellent food and health research at DTU? Are you experienced in research funding, proposal development, and project administration? 

Then you may be the new academic Senior Officer at the Research Promotion Unit, DTU National Food Institute.

The job
The Research Promotion Unit supports researchers at DTU National Food Institute in securing and managing external funding from both Danish and international sources. We provide professional support throughout the grant lifecycle, from developing competitive proposals to ensuring smooth project administration once funding is secured.

We are now seeking a Senior Officer with strong experience in research funding and administration, who can contribute to both pre- and post-award tasks. You will join a small, international, and collaborative team with complementary expertise.

Your primary tasks will include:

  • Supporting researchers in identifying relevant funding opportunities (national and EU level)
  • Assisting in proposal preparation: idea development, partner search, editing, structuring, reviewing, commenting and budgeting
  • Advising on grant requirements, eligibility, and compliance
  • Project administration for awarded grants, including:
    • Budget planning, financial follow-up, and reporting
    • Communication with funding bodies and DTU’s legal and financial departments
    • Coordinating reporting obligations and deliverables with project partners
  • Contributing to strategic collaborations and partnerships in the food research area
  • Helping ensure a professional and supportive research funding environment at DTU National Food Institute

Our expectations of you
To be considered for the position, you have:

  • A relevant academic background (minimum master’s degree, preferably PhD)
  • Solid experience with research funding, proposal writing, or project administration (preferably from both Danish and European funding schemes)
  • Proven ability to develop budgets and support financial reporting in research projects
  • A good command of English, written and spoken, as well as understanding of Danish
  • A proactive, structured, and service-oriented working style with the ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment
  • Experience working in an international research environment is a plus

The DTU National Food Institute has 14 research groups conducting research, teaching, and research-based consultancy to national and international authorities in the food and health area, including for example bioactive substances, nutrition, food production technology, chemical food analysis, microbial biotechnology, and reproductive toxicology. You will thus be part of an exciting and relevant university environment where new knowledge about food and health is created.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). 

The position is a full-time position. The starting date is 1 January 2026 (or according to mutual agreement).

The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus.
