Join us at DTU Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, where you’ll be at the forefront of developing innovative carbon capture and utilization technologies. 

We are looking for 2-3 skilled development engineers to join our dynamic team working on demonstration plants that feature promising new technologies to improve the efficiency of CO₂ capture and utilization.

Our department conducts cutting-edge research in chemical and biochemical engineering, with a strong focus on sustainable technologies. As part of our commitment to addressing climate challenges, we operate multiple carbon capture and utilization pilot plants that demonstrate the practical application of our research.

The job
Your responsibilities as a development engineer include:

  • Administration and coordination of a multitude of smaller labscale setups and pilot testing facilities
  • Design pilot plants and laboratory set-ups with advanced configurations for development of innovative processes
  • Take responsibility in implementing, testing and executing new and innovative solutions to help facilitate development
  • Communication with national and international companies on the highest level (CEOs, CTOs, etc.) 
  • Networking and sharing of own network to create maximum exposure for projects outside DTU and attract potential new project partners and consortia members.
  • Initialize new projects with industrial partners and initialize funding based collaborations
  • Ensure the projects are within the DTU guidelines and strategies
  • Contribute to the professional development of project team members through guidance and sparring, without holding formal personnel management responsibilities

Our expectations of you

  • We expect you to have a masters degree or marine engineer and technology manager 
  • Comprehensive experience with prototyping and innovation (preferably also pilot plant experience)
  • Experience with designing process flow diagrams and P&IDs
  • Networking and people skills
  • Good understanding of the Danish/European visions and strategies within the green transition
  • Excellent communication skills in English and preferably also Danish
  • Out-spoken character
  • To be able to put in the extra work when required due to deadlines and off hours networking events
  • Exceptional communication skills, to be able to communicate the vision of the projects to both researchers, CEOs, the public and funding agencies.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). You are employed as an Academic Officer, Senior Officer, Senior Executive Officer. 

The position is a 2 year full-time position. Starting date will be according to mutual agreement.
