Assistant Professors in Midwifery Science in Health Sciences

Two positions as Assistant Professor (30%) time are vacant at the Research Unit of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, the Department of Clinical ResearchFaculty of Health SciencesUniversity of Southern Denmark.  

The positions are limited to 3 years with the possibility of extension. 

The research unit

The research unit is an important part of the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at Odense University Hospital and presents an interdisciplinary research environment. The unit's tasks include research in gynaecology and obstetrics, including research within the field of reproductive health and midwifery science. 

The academic position

The job involves research, professional development, research education, research-based teaching, including exams, supervision and assessment work within the field of midwifery science or reproductive health. The candidate who is hired must complete a Lecturer Training Programme during the period of employment.

Research tasks

Research tasks within the field of midwifery science or reproductive health is expected.

Teaching tasks

Teaching tasks, development tasks, and coordinating functions in the master's program for midwifery science at SDU can be expected. Additionally, teaching in other studies at the Clinical Institute may be considered.

Expectations and qualifications

The assistant professor must have documented research experience within the areas of midwifery science or more broadly, the field of reproductive health. Experiences with different research methods is an advantage, but not a requirement. Moreover, interest in the field of education and experience with teaching and coordinating educational programmes in Danish higher education is preferred. 

In addition, good cooperation skills are expected to further development of research in the areas mentioned above, both interdisciplinary as well as nationally and internationally. International partners are an advantage, but not a requirement.

Salary and terms of employment

The applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC  (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
