The successful candidate will be working as a part of Associate professor Ida Moltke’s research group for a 6-month period. The candidate will be expected to perform whole genome-based population genomic studies. Hence it is a prerequisite to have extensive experience with performing genome-based population genomic studies, including working with
both with high and low-depth sequencing data
data from both historical and modern samples
data from both human and non-model organism samples
And ideally the candidate has experience working with several different non-model organisms.
Furthermore, it is a prerequisite to have training and extensive experience with statistical and computational analyses using R and Bash as well as population genomics programs like ANGSD, ADMIXTURE, PSMC, and PopsizeABC.
Finally, it is a prerequisite that the candidate has published several relevant papers as first author, proving his or her capability to finish and publish projects.
The assistant professor’s duties will primarily include research, but will also include obligations with regard to publication/scientific communication and research-based teaching within population genomics. To a limited extent it may also include performance of other duties.
Assessment of applicants will primarily consider their level of documented, internationally competitive research. The ability to attract external funding will be considered together with outreach qualifications. Teaching qualifications are not mandatory.
