Our Research
Companion animal general practice is a strategic priority area within the department. The research group for companion animal general practice, dermatology and didactics is primarily focused on creating the evidence to promote companion animal health and welfare, disease prevention, infection control, antimicrobial stewardship and evidence-based teaching methods. Our research group is responsible for and is developing the core veterinary clinical curriculum that ensures new graduates have the essential day-one competencies needed for companion animal general practice. This includes both theoretical and practical propaedeutic training using simulations at the 24/7 University of Copenhagen Center for Veterinary Simulation. We focus on aligning day-one competencies across medicine and surgery with the needs of companion animal general practice.

Our group is part of the Section for Clinical Practice and Diagnostics in Companion Animals. The section includes faculty, diplomates, residents, and senior clinicians. We work closely with all the University Hospital for Companion Animals' units, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.
