Job description
Veterinarians are needed for a national meat inspection team in Denmark. Job duties and responsibilities
Perform ante-mortem inspections, including assessments of animal welfare and transportability.
Conduct case processing and prepare daily control reports.
Supervise animal transport during unloading procedures.
Carry out control tasks related to food safety, animal health, hygiene, and export, including audits and certification.
Manage tasks on the slaughter line related to diseased animals, suspected diagnoses, and quality control.
Uphold the role of a professional authority through clear and precise communication, even in high-pressure situations.
Job requirements
Must hold a degree in veterinary medicine and the mandatory Danish authorization to practice as a veterinarian.
Strong collaborative skills and a positive attitude.
An authoritative and professional demeanor with the ability to take responsibility.
Motivation to quickly learn Danish (oral and written).
Proficient user of MS Office and able to learn new IT systems.
Commitment to continuous professional development (thorough training will be provided for those new to meat inspection).
English skills: Advanced level required.
Qualifications
Driver's license required: B or BE recommended.
Salary and benefits
Salary: between 38,000 kr. and 46,000 kr. per month, according to the applicable collective agreement.
Pension & Benefits: A competitive 18.07% pension and a special holiday allowance are provided.
Working hours: Shift work, with hours varying by slaughterhouse location (e.g., between 5:00 AM and 9:30 PM)
