We seek to appoint a highly motivated and dynamic researcher for a fixed termed 2-year post doc position at the research Center for Science and Faith
on 1 June 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position has emphasis on aspects of science, faith, and human health.
Centre for Science and Faith (CSF) is a cross-faculty collaboration between the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences and the Faculty of Theology. Our research covers topics related to science-faith relations across all academic fields, with particular focus on human health and ecology. Information about the research center is found at

Our research and activities CSF offers an international, diverse, and interdisciplinary research environment, located with offices at the Section for Systematic Theology at Faculty of Theology (
www.teol.ku.dk/english/dept/ast). We perform research, teaching and dissemination related to science-faith cross-talks between several academic domains at universities. In collaborative networks, we produce research on selected topics within the fields, with associated dissemination to the public. The postdoc candidate will have particular responsibility to co-lead an annual international course for Phd students in “Science, Spirituality and Human Health” (
phdcourses.ku.dk/detailkursus.aspx?id=111254&sitepath=SUND.
Interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork among group members and externally with persons of widely different academic backgrounds (across natural, social, and human sciences) is expected and require solid training in one or more fields related to human health, together with good communication skills.
Your job We look for highly motivated and enthusiastic scientists with the following essential experience and skills:
Essential experience and skills:
- You have a PhD degree within an academic field related to human health science
- You are experienced in working across academic fields in research, teaching and/or communication
- You have experience with qualitative and/or quantitative studies related to human health science
- You have experience with national/international grant applications and networks
- You have a strong international publication record within the field, or closely related fields.
General desirable experience and skills:
- Curious mind-set with experience in the interface between science philosophy and human health
- Well-organized, self-motivated, result-oriented and able to work independently or in groups
- You have strong data and text analytical skills and advanced computer skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English, good communication skills
- You have experience in coordination of research projects and scientific interaction
- You have experience with project management.
Place of employment The project work takes place across the involved faculties at University of Copenhagen, but employment will be at Faculty of Theology, University of Copenhagen. Terms of employment The employment as postdoc is full time and fixed-term position for 2 years. Starting date is 1 June 2024 or as soon as thereafter.
Salary, pension, and terms of employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Currently, the monthly salary starts at DKK 36,412/ approx. 4,883 Euro. Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.

Assessment criteria Applicants will primarily be selected on the basis of an overall assessment of the applicants that best match the recruitment needs of the Faculty as described in this advertisement for the post. This is compared with the applicant's research and teaching portfolio as set out in the application, CV incl. list of publication, and any research/development plan.
The recruitment process After the application deadline, the Dean selects applicants for assessment on the advice of the Appointment Committee. All applicants are then immediately notified whether their application has been passed for assessment.
The Dean subsequently appoints an expert assessment committee in order to make an assessment of the selected applicants for the post. Selected applicants are notified of the composition of the Assessment Committee and each applicant has the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment related to the applicant him-/herself.
The Appointment Committee may select candidates for interview.
