Safety related activities in the implementation of complex signaling technology on the railway – are you interested? We are looking for a team lead for one of two teams in the section Safety & Interoperability covering the signalling system renewal covering eastern and western Denmark as well as the S-Bane. The vacant team lead position is in the trackside team. We handle the overall railway safety of the entire implementation of the new signalling system, including the assessment of supplier and stakeholder inputs, to ensure that project deliveries fulfill the necessary safety and interoperability requirements.
We assist the Signalling Programme with the implementation of ERTMS across Denmark replacing the signalling system on the national railway with new technology. The programme consists of different projects supported by an international supplier base. The section is a part of the area Jernbanesikkerhed which is in the Safety and law division.
Participate in ensuring essential safety activities On a day-to-day basis, you will manage a team of five safety managers and safety advisors as well as a varying number of consultants. You will also participate in producing and reviewing safety documentation, and you will be involved in all safety-related activities across the Signalling Programme, thereby taking part in developing and optimizing safety-related processes across Banedanmark.
As a teamlead your responsibilities are:
- Ensuring that the team delivers safety submissions to the NSA in full compliance with the Danish and European Railway Legislation and Common Safety Method (CSM-RA)
- Ensuring that safety submissions are assessed by Assessment Bodies (AsBo) and Notified Bodies (NoBo)
- Ensuring that all safety subjects are communicated and handled internally within Banedanmark
- Collaborating with relevant railway undertaking companies, suppliers as well as internal stakeholders
- Reviewing all necessary safety documentation, e.g., system definitions and hazard logs
- Task allocation, organizing and following up on work in the team
- Developing team members within the safety field
Experience with safety analysis and complex organizations You hold a relevant degree, and you have several years of professional experience and insight into railway safety and approval processes from a large and complex organization. You have experience with personnel management, and you have an open and trust-based management style. You value the essence of each team member while relishing opportunities to assist in their growth and development.
You know how to produce and manage safety documentation, and how to apply and use CSM-RA, CENELEC, TSI CCS and Danish railway legislation. This enables you to support your team members in their tasks. You have knowledge about ERTMS/ECTS and have perhaps already worked with signalling systems in another role.
The capacity for clear communication and collaborative stakeholder management is crucial for navigating this role, as it emphasizes partnership both within Banedanmark and with outside entities. Thus, we seek a person who is approachable and understanding of the various professional and cultural backgrounds.
It is important that you flourish in a vibrant setting where a systematic and organized approach is necessary, along with the capacity to accommodate tight deadlines.
We offer a multi-national work environment, so it is necessary that you speak, write and communicate fluently in English.
Salary You will be employed in relation to the current labour agreement and your salary is settled based on your experience and qualifications.
