The Mads Clausen Institute, NanoSYD Centre, part of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Southern Denmark, offers a part-time position, 14 hours per week, from 1 October 2025 – 28 February 2026, as a Student Assistant to support research in artificial spider silk fabrication and advanced 3D printing. The Student Research Assistant should have knowledge in materials science, nanotechnology, physics, or related fields. The student assistant will contribute to the activities listed below.

Assignment of the Student Assistant includes:

  • Support in the preparation and fabrication of artificial spider silk materials.
  • Design and 3D printing of microfluidic and mechanical components for material printing.
  • Optical and spectroscopic characterization of fabricated samples
  • Assistance with experimental setup, calibration, and data acquisition.
  • Documentation, data analysis, and reporting of results.

  Please note, the selected candidate as Student Assistant or Academic Supervisor must be enrolled as student at SDU.
  Employment shall take place in accordance with the framework agreement between the Ministry of Finance and SUL (National Union for Student Teachers in Government Service).
    In case you have not yet had an examination at SDU, the enrollment confirmation instead of the exam transcript must be annexed your application.
