The Integrative Structural Biology cluster at the University of Copenhagen is looking for a student assistant to assist with communications tasks with effect from 1 December 2025. Average working hours will be 10 hours per week.
About us This student assistant position is based at the Integrative Structural Biology cluster at the University of Copenhagen (ISBUC – www.isbuc.ku.dk). ISBUC is a prominent scientific network which promotes an integrative approach to structural biology at the University of Copenhagen. It is constituted by over 50 principal investigators and 150 junior researchers who are spread across 16 different departments in the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. The aim of ISBUC is to facilitate new interdisciplinary collaborations between researchers and departments and to raise the profile of structural biology within Denmark. Throughout the year, ISBUC organises numerous events and activities to facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration, communication and facility access between its members. These include small and large scientific meetings, a website, an e-newsletter, and various MSc and PhD courses. We also support the Junior ISBUC network who have their own roster of events.
Tasks The primary responsibilities of the student assistant are to assist with science communication tasks, including:
- Creating posters, banners and flyers for ISBUC events (using canva)
- Updating ISBUC’s SoMe accounts (Blueksy, Facebook, LinkedIn)
- Updating ISBUC’s website (using a CMS)
- Helping to prepare the ISBUC annual report
- Helping to prepare the bimonthly ISBUC newsletter
- Ad-hoc assistance at events
Workload: The position is for a 9 month contract. Varying working hours is to be expected, but the average working hours is 10 hours per week.
About You: You are a student with an interest in communication. ISBUC is a hub for structural biology at UCPH. As such, it is beneficial to have interest in the field of molecular biology, although this is not a requirement for application.
- You are outgoing and good with people
- You are responsible, with good decision-making skills
- You are self-motivated and adaptable
- You are proficient in English. Speaking and/or understanding Danish is a plus
- You are flexible and interested in taking on different tasks.
Terms of salary and employment Employment conditions will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Organizations of Public Employees – governmental institutions (the OAO-S collective agreement) under HK/STAT as HK Student. Your salary will be based on seniority.
The employment is conditioned on documentation for active enrolment at a University or similar.
