Staff Scientist within automated synthesis, purification and characterization of oligonucleotides and peptides as well as preparation and characterization of lipid nanoparticles.

We invite applications for a 30-month position as Staff Scientist (Academic Officer) at FKF in the group of associate professor Stefan Vogel at the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy.

The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy is one of four departments at the Faculty of Science, SDU and located in Odense and is focused on fundamental research. The department’s research contributes to new knowledge and solutions with applications in the areas of climate, environment, energy, and health. The department is responsible for the educations in chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and physics, as well as the bachelor’s education in pharmacy. The Staff Scientist will be part of the Section for Chemistry and Pharmacy.

The following expertise is necessary for the position:

  • Documented experience (in terms of publications) with automated synthesis of oligonucleotides and peptides as well as HPLC purification
  • Applicants must also have documented experience (in terms of publications) with preparation and characterization of lipid nanoparticles 
  • Experiences with spectroscopic methods UV/VIS and fluorescence techniques
  • The applicant must have an undergraduate and graduate training in Chemistry. 
  • Applicants must be able to work in a multidisciplinary environment and must be able to document that they have experience in collaborating with experimental groups in the past. 

The selected candidate is expected to start 1. September 2025 or soon thereafter.
