Job description:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Indian Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. The right candidate will have deep knowledge of Indian cooking techniques, spices, and regional dishes, and will be able to maintain consistency and quality in every dish

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook traditional Indian and South Indian dishes (curries, dosas, biryanis, breads, tandoori items).

• Operate and manage a tandoor oven, dosa tawa, and other kitchen equipment.

• Ensure all food is prepared to high standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene.

• Assist in menu planning, portion control, and recipe standardisation.

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen according to food safety (HACCP) standards.

• Manage stock levels, order ingredients, and control food costs and wastage.

• Work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations.

• Train junior kitchen staff when required.

• Follow all company and Danish food regulations and hygiene requirements.

Qualifications and skills:

• Minimum 1-2 years ’ experience as an curry cook or South Indian chef in a professional restaurant.

• Strong knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking methods.

• Experience with tandoor, dosa, and traditional Indian curries.

• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen and manage time well.

• Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards (HACCP).

• Basic English required; knowledge of Danish is an advantage.

• Team-oriented, reliable, and passionate about Indian cuisine.
