Security Engineer, IAM / PAM – European Energy

Be a catalyst for change in renewable energy! Join our team as a Security Engineer developing our future IAM/PAM solutions.

European Energy is a green company with exponential growth. We develop, construct, and operate solar (PV) and wind farms globally, as well as Power-to-X. Our core values are the foundation of everything we do: In it together, Trust and Courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.

Your new role
As a significant player in renewable energy, our need for robust identity and access management is constantly evolving. Ensuring secure and efficient access to our systems is more crucial than ever. As our new Security Engineer, you will join our IT Operations & Security team, which—along with the rest of the company—is on a growth and maturity journey. You will work closely with Information Security and the Security Operations team to implement and manage IAM/PAM solutions.

The team currently consists of 10 people responsible for the overall architecture of the network, servers, storage, and application landscape, supported by an IT Support and Service Desk of 6 people.

Areas of responsibility
You will be responsible for the full scope of onboarding and maintaining applications and platforms to our PAM solution, including building custom connection components and password managers for IT & OT environments. You will also play a crucial part in expanding and operating our future IAM solution.

On a typical day, you might:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across our organisation as well as external consultants

  • Manage user identities and access privileges across various systems and applications

  • Develop and enforce IAM policies and procedures to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations

  • Review and update access control policies

  • Monitor IAM systems for suspicious activities and potential security breaches

  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with internal and external security requirements

  • Integrate IAM solutions with existing IT infrastructure and applications

  • Develop and maintain custom connectors and scripts for seamless integration

To thrive in this role
You are comfortable in the ever-changing environment of a company and department in rapid growth. You enjoy the freedom to take responsibility for your work and have the initiative to drive things forward. You have strong collaboration skills and enjoy working with stakeholders within our organisation as well as with external consultants. Your structured and organised way of working helps you deliver high-quality results, and you can bridge business and technical contexts.

In addition, we are looking for:

  • At least 3 years (preferably 5+) of experience working with IAM & PAM solutions

  • Relevant IAM/PAM certifications (e.g., CIAM), CISSP, or similar

  • Knowledge of and experience with major IAM/PAM tools and platforms

  • Knowledge of identity security best practices for both on-premises and cloud environments

  • Understanding of fundamental security approaches and principles (e.g., SoD, least privilege, Zero Trust)

  • Experience with event-based integrations between Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory (AD) and other platforms/systems

  • General Azure knowledge, including serverless/Azure Functions

  • Understanding of IT processes and the system development life cycle

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity controls and frameworks (e.g., CIS 18 and the ISO/IEC 27000 series)

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English (Danish is a plus)

It is an advantage if you have experience with Group Policy, Conditional Access, and MFA configuration.
