Background Spearheaded by the generous backing of the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF), the Proteomics Research Infrastructure (PRI) stands as a cutting-edge mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics research facility. This state-of-the-art infrastructure ensures seamless and prompt access to the latest proteomics technologies for researchers across Nordic countries, delivering comprehensive assistance encompassing consultancy, sample preparation, MS measurements, and data analysis. Beyond its instrumental role in research, PRI actively shares proteomics knowledge and advancements with the local research and industry communities.
Situated at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen (PANUM) in the heart of the city, PRI operates in close collaboration with the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (CPR). With a robust user base that transcends institutional boundaries, PRI supports a diverse community of researchers from many different backgrounds.
To support the data analysis and software development at PRI, we are in search of a qualified
Proteomics Data Specialist to support us from July 2025, or as soon as possible to April 2026. The environment in the PRI is vibrant, ambitious, and international, with many different nationalities represented. The working language is English.
Job description We are recruiting an organized, structured, and highly motivated person for the Data Specialist maternity cover. The selected candidate is responsible for the maintenance and development of software tools and the efficient data analysis of proteomic projects measured at PRI, and is expected to:
- Develop and maintain software tools for the analysis of proteomic experiments
- Perform data analysis of proteomic experiments
- Conduct solid statistical analysis
- Generate interactive reports in dashboard or Streamlit format
- Administer data storage solutions
Qualifications The ideal candidate should fulfil the following qualifications:
- An advanced degree (master’s or doctoral) in a highly quantitative field including but not limited to Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering or Computational Physics
- Excellent programming skills, fluency in Python programming language
- Proficiency in full-stack development and version control
- Independent project developing skills
- Profound knowledge of biological big data analysis
- Experience in bottom-up proteomic data analysis or other Omics data analysis is an advantage
- Good communication skills, fluent in English language
- Service-oriented and team-player mentality
Terms of salary and employment The employment and salary conditions are in accordance with the Circular on the Collective Agreement concerning academics in the state sector concluded between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The salary level will be determined based on seniority according to the AC agreement. Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
The working hours are 37 hours per week. The role is a fixed position until (at least) April, 2026.
