Are you a structured, flexible political enthusiast with an interest in green development and international cooperation? Then the role as our new Project Consultant in the STRING EU Project Office could be the perfect fit!

STRING is looking for a new Project Consultant to join our EU Project Office in Copenhagen. You will be working closely with our international partners on current and future EU projects, with H2ignite, an Interreg North Sea project focused on accelerating hydrogen uptake in the transport sector as your main responsibility. At the same time, you will contribute to developing and supporting other project activities within STRING’s EU portfolio.

STRING is a political member organization uniting 16 cities, regions, and municipalities from Hamburg to Oslo. Our mission is to drive sustainable growth by promoting green transport infrastructure, advancing the green transition in Northern Europe, and fostering cross-border cooperation. H2ignite is an Interreg North Sea project dedicated to creating four regional hydrogen innovation ecosystems. The project promotes technological advancements, business innovations, and policy developments within the transport sector. By facilitating cross-sector dialogue, H2ignite aims to accelerate the North Sea Region's transition to hydrogen-powered transportation, contributing to a more sustainable future. STRING will be leading the establishment of the H2ignite cross-sector hydrogen forum to maximise outreach as well as create awareness, and to promote a joint H2 innovation ecosystem strategy across sectors and the North Sea region. To strengthen the uptake of hydrogen in the transport sector STRING will be responsible for developing and deploying a pilot focusing on creating business models to enable public supplier H2 HDV deployment.

YOUR ROLE

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic project consultant to take the lead on communication and dissemination activities for H2ignite, while also driving the STRING pilot ecosystem. In this role, you will be a key advocate for the inclusion of hydrogen vehicles in Denmark’s public procurement strategy, helping to shape a cleaner, more sustainable transport future. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary and experienced team of partners from 11 organisations across the North Sea Region, ensuring that our work reaches the most relevant stakeholders, from local governments and policymakers maximising impact and contribute to the overall success of the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead communication and dissemination activities for H2ignite and other EU projects.
  • Conduct research and produce analytical content independently and in collaboration with partners.
  • Monitor policy developments at regional, national, and EU levels.
  • Map and engage stakeholders across political, academic, and business sectors.
  • Support the development of pilot activities, particularly within hydrogen mobility.
  • Draft reports, presentations, and social media content.
  • Represent STRING at political events, meetings, and project gatherings across the megaregion.

YOUR PROFILE

H2ignite and STRING have a small secretariat with a large political mandate. As such, we are looking for a flexible candidate and a go-doer, who can easily adjust to the fast-paced and often frequently changing climate of a political secretariat.

SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • Background in political science, green economy, international business, or related fields.
  • Experience working in a multi-stakeholder setting, preferably with EU-funded projects.
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, able to tailor information for different audiences.
  • Familiarity with communication tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe, HubSpot) and social media (especially LinkedIn).
  • Self-motivated, structured, and able to manage deadlines.
  • Natural networker with strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional command of English and fluency in at least one Scandinavian language.

A substantial amount of travelling activity is to be expected, particularly within Denmark, and to Norway, Sweden, Germany and Brussels in relation to meetings and events. In return we can offer you a highly varied, flexible and interesting opportunity, where you will be encouraged to grow and shape your own position, surrounded by competent, supporting and lighthearted colleagues in the heart of Copenhagen.
