The Center for Quantum Devices at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, invites applicants for a postdoctoral fellowship focused on developing solid-state quantum electronics platforms for experimental quantum simulations. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a team combining semiconductor quantum dots and high-frequency resonators for simulating small molecular systems. The project is part of the SolidQ research program, funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
Applicants should preferably have or be near completion of a PhD degree in experimental condensed matter physics or a related discipline, with experience in nanofabrication processes and electronic devices operating in the quantum regime. The project combines device design (semiconducting and superconducting quantum devices), nanofabrication, low-temperature measurements using cryofree dilution refrigerators, high frequency measurement techniques, data analysis and close collaboration with theoretical physicists and materials scientists. Scientific writing and communication will be in English.
Inquiries about the position can be made to Jesper Nygård (nygard@nbi.ku.dk).
The position is open from 01 August 2025 and runs for 20 months.
