Copenhagen University Hospital, Rigshospitalet Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen We are offering a Postdoc in brain tumor research and bioinformatics commencing March/April 2025.
Our group and research The selected candidate will be part of professor, consultant neuropathologist Bjarne Winther Kristensens
research group. Bjarne Winther Kristensen will be the supervisor. A main interest in the group is how the role of the tumor microenvironment influences brain tumor aggressiveness and therapy response and how this change between different types, subtypes and regions of brain tumors.
Your job You will join a multi-disciplinary research team that work with both patient tumor tissue, experimental
in vitro and
in vivo brain tumor models and advanced bioinformatics using a multi-omics approach.
The main tasks in the postdoc project will be to investigate tumor cells and microenvironment in histologically distinct glioblastoma samples and discover novel biological and therapeutic aspects. The ideal candidate should have a background in biological sciences and be an expert in analysis of high-plex spatial transcriptomics and single-cell/nuclei RNA sequencing data. Experience in cancer research and at best glioblastoma research would be an advantage. You should be self-motived and be able to coordinate multiple collaborations and drive the project forward.
You will also take an active role in co-leading and co-managing our bioinformatics team together with the group leader and you will take an active role in co-leading our group, so we are cutting-edge in integrating computational and AI approaches into our research.
