As we grow our fleet and expand our services, we are looking for a skilled Operations Manager & Sailing Instructor to join our Copenhagen team.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced maritime professional who can combine hands-on seamanship with operational leadership. The position requires both oversight of GoBoat’s harbour operations at Islands Brygge and active involvement in training and mentoring new captains and crew. You will play a central role in ensuring that our growing fleet runs safely and efficiently while supporting the development of new services and experiences for guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day harbour and fleet operations, ensuring safe and efficient service delivery.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures, risk assessments, and safety drills.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor captains and operations staff, building strong, customer-focused teams.
  • Provide professional instruction in seamanship and safety to both staff and guest groups.
  • Contribute to the development of new guest routes, partnerships, and tourism services.
  • Lead incident management and act as point of contact for health, safety, and compliance.
  • Represent GoBoat’s values of sustainability, safety, and community across all activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • RYA Yachtmaster Offshore (or equivalent international certification).
  • VHF Maritime Radio Operator and Powerboat certification.
  • Significant experience managing small-craft or harbour fleet operations.
  • Demonstrated background as a sailing instructor with ability to build skills, resilience, and teamwork.
  • Proven track record in staff recruitment, training, and scheduling in dynamic environments.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety, risk management, and compliance.
  • First Aid / International First Responder certification.
  • Fluent in English; Danish language skills are an advantage.
