We are looking for an ambitious Platform Engineer who gets excited by these questions! You will report directly to the Director of Engineering and shape the DNA of our company.
About H3D
H3D is an Australian Ph.D. research spinout whose mission is to make custom-fit devices (e.g. hearing aids, dental appliances) accessible to everyday people. We do this by providing AI technology to audio and dental labs – our Dental CAD, Audio CAD and Smartphone Scanning products – to grow their businesses and better support patients.
Since our product launch in 2021, H3D are growing fast and working with industry leaders such as Logitech, GN Resound, Modern Dental Group and many others. The company is backed by leading VC investors and has customers based worldwide.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, build, and maintain internal tools that support engineering workflows, automated testing, and efficient product delivery.
- Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, reliable, and traceable deployments across environments.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to identify and remove development and release process bottlenecks.
- Implement systems that improve observability, diagnostics, and developer feedback loops.
- Advocate for best practices in automation, configuration mgmt., and infrastructure-as-code.
Must-Have:
- 3+ years of experience in platform, DevOps, or backend engineering roles, with a strong focus on developer experience.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
- Proficiency in scripting or automation languages (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar), and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi).
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes or ECS).
- Strong collaboration skills and a product mindset when building tools for internal users.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience building internal developer platforms, test frameworks, or quality gates.
- Familiarity with automated testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E) and tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, pytest).
- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, particularly in automating infrastructure provisioning and environment setup.
- Experience setting up performance and observability tools (AWS CloudFront, etc).
- Background in a startup or fast-paced engineering culture where delivery velocity is key.
