We invite applicants who want to contribute to the IT University's vision of creating and sharing knowledge that is profound and leads to ground-breaking information technology and services for the benefit of humanity.
Job description This PhD project aims to develop and integrate large language model (LLM)-based AI modules into simulated environments to improve strategic and tactical decision-making. The work focuses on combining LLMs with multimodal contextual data such as images, videos, and sensor streams. These data will be used to enrich the LLMs’ situational understanding, enabling real-time optimisation of decisions through an interactive human–machine interface combining chat-based and multimodal analysis.
The PhD candidate will contribute to the design of a scalable database for multi-source agent data, the development of an LLM-integrated interface for strategic recommendations, and the evaluation of scalability and performance as the number of autonomous agents grows. The research will involve simulation-based validation of the system’s adaptability and robustness in diverse tactical and environmental scenarios.
The candidate should have experience in some of the following topics:
- Large language models
- Deep reinforcement learning
- Simulation environments
