About FLC:

At Femern Link Contractors (FLC), we are responsible for designing and constructing the immersed tunnel from Denmark to Germany, the Fehmernbelt tunnel.

In Rødbyhavn, FLC built facilities for fabricating tunnel elements as well a dedicated work harbor for project supply and management of chartered as well as FLC owned vessels.

About the department:

The vessels owed by FLC are purpose built for the installation of the Fehmernbelt tunnel are managed by the Marine Technical Department, part of the Marine branch within FLC.

The Marine Technical Department is tasked with ensuring operational readiness of the vessels, and is located in the FLC work harbor with access to own workshop and warehouse facilities.

Interface with the crew and providing the necessary services to the vessels is all based on short lines and close interface.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

The Vessel Manager heads a technical team of dedicated staff to ensure operational readiness of the assigned vessels

To this end, the Vessel Manager will,

  • Manage and support technical team on a daily basis

  • Manage interface with Operations team and other FLC subdepartments

  • Initiate and guide supporting processes (procurement, recruitment, supplier contracts)

  • Identify and initiate continuous improvement of internal processes

Qualifications:

  • 10 years experience as Vessel Manager / Vessel Technical Superintendent

  • BSc in Marine Engineering or equivalent

  • Willingness to relocate for project duration

  • Positive mindset and leadership skills

Due to the operational nature of the role, full-time on-site presence is required, accommodation to be provided by FLC.
