The Freshwater Ecology group at the Department of Biology is seeking a motivated Lab Technician to support our research on sustainable lake restoration with focus on phosphorus recycling.

The position is for 2 years from December 1st, 2025, with possibility for extension, and the working time is 30 hours per week.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conducting plant pot experiments, including biomass measurements, growth assessments, and nutrient/element analyses in plants, soils, and fertilizer materials.

  • Monitoring large-scale field plot experiments, including plant harvest and soil sampling.

  • Maintaining a long-term nutrient flux experiment, including weekly water sampling for nutrient analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Practical experience in plant growth experiments as well as plant, soil, and water sampling and processing.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.

  • A valid driver’s license is required.
