The Department of Psychology is looking for a lab manager for The Centre for Early Childhood Cognition at the University of Copenhagen. The successful candidate will manage the lab and provide administrative support for ongoing research projects on early cognitive development with infants and young children.
Primary responsibilities for this position will include (1) coordinating participant recruitment for the lab, (2) contacting parents to schedule appointments and organizing testing in the lab; (3) testing of participants for different studies within the lab; (4) coordinating staff within the lab; (4) developing and maintaining operations of the lab through general administrative duties.
Essential qualifications: - A master’s degree in psychology, Neuroscience, or a related discipline
- An excellent rapport with babies, young children and their parents
- Experience testing infants and young children in studies of cognitive development
- Experience of methods used for testing the cognitive capacities of young infants, including eye-tracking, EEG and fNIRS
- A strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Being able to show initiative and be motivated to work independently when necessary
- Fluency in both spoken and written Danish and English
- The ability to manage people working within the lab and on different projects
Job description The successful candidate will support ongoing projects in the Centre for Early Childhood Cognition. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the lab and coordinating the testing of participants. In addition, the successful candidate may be asked to help coordinate international workshops, conferences or visiting students and faculty to the centre. The candidate will be expected to contribute to daily lab-life, including taking part in meetings and collaborating with other members of the lab. The position involves roughly equal amounts of participant testing and data coding, and administration of projects within the lab.
Salary and conditions of employment Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The monthly salary will be based on the number of years of work experience (seniority) with the
possibility to negotiate a salary supplement based on prior experience and qualifications.
