DTU Skylab FoodLab is seeking a curious and skilled individual to join our team as a FoodLab Assistant. In this role, you’ll support daily operations in the lab, assist students and researchers with their projects, and help maintain a functional and inspiring kitchen lab space. 

You’ll work closely with the DTU Skylab FoodLab Manager and be part of a dynamic innovation hub. This is envisioned as a junior position with room to grow and develop professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support in food-related projects and activities
  • Ensure the kitchen lab is well-maintained and operational
  • Contribute to the development and execution of new initiatives and projects
  • Engage with the DTU community around food sustainability and innovation

What We’re Looking For
We imagine you are a structured and proactive individual with a solid understanding of scientific experimentation and a willingness to contribute to the practical, hands-on aspects of lab work. This role is ideal for a junior scientist or recent graduate with a technical background in culinary R&D and a keen interest in global food trends.

We value knowledge and experience in:

  • Sustainable food systems, food science, and nutrition
  • Microbiology and food fermentation
  • Food product development and modern culinary techniques
  • Clear and professional communication in English (written and spoken)

Experience in interdisciplinary labs like DTU Skylab FoodLab, as well as in entrepreneurial or startup environment, is considered a plus.

Terms of Employment
Salary and employment conditions follow the OAO-S Joint Agreement and the organizational agreement for Engineering Assistants and Research Technicians at research institutions or other relevant agreement. The position is full-time. 

The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus.
