Research area and project description:
If you are quick, you have the opportunity to apply for this exiting PhD project, supporting the development of a green Denmark, living labs in light of the Danish Tripartite agreement and further international impacts!

To promote a sustainable transition of farming systems and landscapes, the development of new whole farm and landscape scale impact assessment tools are urgently needed, e.g. to assess emissions and more Nature based Solutions for environmental and climate impact mitigation, and real world scenarios for the implementation of the Danish Tripartite agreement. To do this, new types of data collection and models are needed, including digital information in close collaboration with farmers and their advisors, and real-world testing with relevant stakeholders in living labs.

The PhD candidate will be embedded in an interdisciplinary and international oriented research environment, working closely with farmers and other stakeholders, seeking to understand factors influencing the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices at the farm and landscape level. The study is in particular around critical case living labs, for example in the TRANSFORM-DK “Living Labs supporting the transformation of Danish Landscapes” but also work internationally in selected areas together with international partners, all within the connected Land-CRAFT.dk Center for Landscape Research in Sustainable Agricultural Futures. Thereby, our ambition is to be generic and develop, publish and test results in Denmark, and internationally.

We look forward for this PhD candidate to come a join our research team of fellow PhD students and researchers, related to the Department of Agroecology and the section for Agricultural Systems and Sustainability, including both national and international projects (e.g. the mentioned TRANSFORM-DK initiative and Land-CRAFT.DK Center, an connected research projects across Aarhus-Copenhagen University, SEGES and Innovation Centre for Organic Farming etc. with the project on Primary Emissions Activity Data for Mitigation assessment (PREMIS), and the international trans4num.eu EU-China project).
