The Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy (DDEA) is looking for an Education and Networking Coordinator to join our Secretariat from 19 February 2026 to 31.12 2027.

In this position, you will play a key role in coordinating, implementing, and developing DDEA’s educational and networking activities within diabetes, metabolism and classical endocrinology for our main target group: PhD students and postdocs.

You will ensure that all activities align with DDEA’s overall strategy and contribute to a high learning outcome and strong collaboration across the Danish research landscape.

It brings together early-career and senior researchers from universities, hospitals, and the life science industry in Denmark. As part of the DDEA Secretariat, located at Odense University Hospital, you will join a dedicated team of seven employees. You will have a central role in planning and coordinating a wide range of national and international educational and networking activities, working closely with colleagues and partners in Denmark and abroad.

Main tasks

  • Coordinate and support the planning and implementation of DDEA’s education, talent development, and networking activities, including those within relevant strategic programmes, such as PhD courses, postdoc courses, symposia, workshops, networking events, and other activities.
  • Assist the Committee for Education by providing secretarial support, including preparation of annual plans and coordination of organising sub-committees for individual activities.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute DDEA’s activities in collaboration with national and international partners from universities, hospitals, and the life science industry.
  • Evaluate DDEA’s educational and networking activities to ensure optimal learning outcomes and alignment with DDEA’s strategic goals
The position includes limited national travel (approximately 3-4 days per month) related to events and activities.

Your Profile

  • Experience in implementing modern pedagogical teaching tools and learning methods to enhance the outcomes of postgraduate educational activities.
  • Experience in developing, coordinating, and facilitating national and international education or networking events.
We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A relevant university degree, e.g. in learning and competence development, health sciences, or natural sciences.
  • Experience in evaluating and improving learning outcomes in higher education.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills.
  • Experience in working with national and international research institutions
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills (as most events and communication takes place in English).

Employment Details

  • Place of employment: Odense University Hospital.
  • Reporting to: Managing Director of DDEA
  • Employment period: Fixed-term position from February 19, 2026 until December 31, 2027. The position is temporary, as it is financed by a time-limited external grant.
  • Working hours: 30 hours per week.
  • Salary and terms: According to the applicable collective agreement, with the possibility of individual salary negotiation based on qualifications.
