The position is temporary and will expire by the end of December 2026.
We are a human rights and development organisation, rehabilitation clinic and knowledge center fighting for a world without torture. For more than 40 years, DIGNITY has been a driving force in the global struggle against torture and violence.
We are engaged in more than 20 countries worldwide in close partnership with civil society organisations, academic institutions and, where possible, with local and national authorities. Our international programmes focus on three core objectives: preventing torture and other forms of violence, pursuing justice for survivors of torture and accountability for perpetrators, and strengthening access to rehabilitation to survivors.
The Research and Learning team is responsible for designing, coordinating and implementing international research projects and for ensuring that adequate and relevant monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is conducted across our partnership programmes. The team both develops innovative and independent research and generates M&E data and analysis that feed into our reporting and enable learning and critical reflection on our activities and our partners’ work. The team consists of 8 research and analysis staff.
About the position
As a student assistant you will be attached to the research project “Everyday violence and environmental change in Uganda” (ENVIU). The project explores the relation between climate change, climate action and violence. It is implemented together with university and civil society partners in Uganda. Your primary tasks will be to assist the Principal Investigator for the project based in Copenhagen and the international ENVIU team. This will include:

Terms of employment
The position is placed in DIGNITY's Research and Learning team with reference to the head of Research and Learning.
Your place of employment is Copenhagen at our HQ at Bryggervangen 55, 2100 Copenhagen Ø, Denmark.
Expected entry is 1st of March 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
This is a temporary position that will end no later than December 31st 2026, or upon the student’s completion or withdrawal of their education, whichever occurs first.
Your working hours are 15 hours per week excluding lunch.The employment is based on the Danish collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and OAO-S and collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and HK/Stat §35 regarding students.
