You will be based in the Human Rights, Business & Tech Department at the Danish Institute for Human Rights (the Institute) in Copenhagen. The department works to foster responsible business conduct by working with state actors, businesses and financial institutions, rights-holders affected by business operations, and other relevant stakeholders.

As department coordinator you will help the team keep administrative order and good spirits, by ensuring fluid communication within the team as well as executing and develop new and leaner procedures inside the department and in the relations with colleagues outside of the department.

You will also assist with contracting, planning of events and publications and support the development of training and communication materials related to specific projects.

ABOUT THE POSITION As a department coordinator you will:

  • Support the Human Rights, Business and Tech Department in work planning, budgeting, documenting and archiving of documents as well as reporting and evaluation of activities;
  • Help prepare meetings, draft minutes, and keep track/follow-up on decisions;
  • Support internal communication including drafting of internal newsletter, etc.;
  • Help communicate our work to an external audience: website articles, development of communication materials etc.;
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of interns and new colleagues.
As a project assistant, you will:

  • Contribute to the development of training and information materials on human rights, business and tech including through digital tools;
  • Contribute to developing and disseminating multi-lingual publications;
  • Contribute to project management and in particular: managing re-grants and contracts with partners/ suppliers, review of budgets and expenses, communicating with partners, support to planning of events/ activities etc.
YOUR BACKGROUND
  • You are committed to human rights and want to work in a vision-oriented organisation;
  • You have relevant educational and professional background for example in the field of communication and management, project management or political sciences.
  • You have experience with project-based organisations and have good project management skills;
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills and are fluent in English. Working ability in Danish is a strong asset. Spanish and/or French are valued. Other languages an asset;
  • You are structured and attentive to details;
  • You are service minded, solution-oriented and enjoy working with international teams with diverse cultural backgrounds;
  • You are good at using new digital tools. Experience with electronic document management systems such as Public 360°, SAS financial management, RejsUd is an advantage.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT The position is full-time based in Copenhagen, with a weekly average of 37 hours. Starting date as soon as possible.

The salary and other conditions will be determined in accordance with the Danish Ministry of Finance’s agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations with the possibility to negotiate individual supplements.
