Join the Plasma Physics and Fusion Energy Section at the DTU department of Physics, where we advance the fundamental understanding of plasma physics with a focus on fusion plasmas. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Computational Engineer to work on the development of numerical gyro-fluid edge turbulence models targeting magnetic confinement fusion devices.
Our section conducts cutting-edge research in plasma transport, turbulence, and particle confinement, combining experimental studies with advanced numerical modelling. You will lead the software development of our three-dimensional 6-moment gyro-fluid simulation code and will focus on implementation of plasma-neutral interactions, improved gyro-average operations, and non-axisymmetric magnetic field geometries.
You should have a strong background in gyro-fluid modelling of turbulent plasmas, the numerical methods used to discretise such models, as well as the technical skills to implement these algorithms on high performance computer architectures, specifically GPUs.

Salary and appointment terms
