The University seeks to appoint a clinical research associate professor of Psychiatry to the Department of Clinical Medicine to commence from as soon as possible. The clinical research associate professorship is combined with a clinical position at Psychiatry Region Zealand, East.
It is a requirement for appointment that the applicant is accepted for both the clinical research associate professorship and the clinical position. In order to be considered the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the clinical research associate professorship) and to the hospital (the clinical position) cf. the simultaneously advertised clinical position. Job description
The clinical research associate professors’ duties will primarily consist of:
Any current employment as clinical associate professor (rate A, B or rate C) will expire if the applicant is employed as a clinical research associate professor.
Required qualifications
The qualification requirement for the clinical research associate professor is a master’s degree in medicine, specialist status as well as further teaching and research qualifications, for example PhD or doctorate and subsequently documented scientific production on an international level. In addition, there will be an emphasis on experience with scientific guidance, research administration and international research collaboration.
The clinical research associate professors are also required to possess good interpersonal and communicative skills.
Terms of employment
A clinical research associate professor is paid in accordance with Aftale af 29. november 2012 mellem Styrelsen for Universiteter og Internationalisering, Yngre Læger og Foreningen af Speciallæger om kliniske lektorer ved universiteter under Ministeriet for Forskning, Innovation og Videregående Uddannelser (Uddannelsesministeriet) http://fivu.dk/lovstof/gaeldende-love-og-regler/uddannelsesinstitutioner/aftale-om-kliniske-lektorer-november-2012.pdf
Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment of an associate professor are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations. The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2025.

Job description
The clinical research associate professors’ duties will primarily consist of:
- Research – Special focus on research in descriptive psychopathology in complicated schizophrenia. Psychopathological research can be conducted as basic clinical phenomenological research, as neuropsychiatric research, in intervention studies and as cohort studies that uncover the development of psychopathology in life perspective.
- Research-based teaching – Pre-graduate teaching in Psychiatry (5th year medical school) as lectures, student activating teaching (tutorials) and thesis supervisor. Participation in educational development of Psychiatry curriculum for Køge Medical School. Teaching and training specialist trainees in Psychiatry and Phd-students in diagnostic assessment.
- Research leadership – The candidate is expected to build own emerging research group based on external funding and participate in ongoing research in the Mental Health Service within the research themes Schizophrenia and its complexity. The candidate is expected to collaborate within the region for large-scale strategic funding applications.
- Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate.
