The Center for Basic Research in Program Verification (CPV) seeks an assistant professor to work on the ERC funded project Compositional Reasoning about Higher-Order Distributed Systems (CHORDS). The focus of the position will be on research on separation logics and relational models for reasoning about probabilistic programming languages, with applications to reasoning about security properties.
 
This is a full time (37 hours) fixed-term position, starting date is: June 15, 2025 - or soon thereafter and the position runs for three years, i.e., until June 14, 2028. 


Tasks and Qualifications


Applicants are expected to have a strong background in semantics, type theory, Coq formalization; in particular, working knowledge of the Iris higher-order concurrent separation logic framework, and preferably also recent extensions to probabilistic versions of Iris.

The research tasks will focus on program logics for probabilistic programming languages using the Iris program logic framework.

The research will involve both unary program logics and relational models and both precise and approximate reasoning. Special emphasis will put on examples for security applications.

Shortlisting is used. This means that after the deadline for applications – and with the assistance from the assessment committee chairman, and the assessment committee if necessary, – the head of department selects the candidates to be evaluated. The selection is made on the basis of an assessment of who of the candidates are most relevant considering the requirements of the advertisement. The selected applicants will be informed about the composition of the committee and will receive his/her assessment. Once the recruitment process is completed a final letter of rejection is sent to the deselected applicants.

Formalities and salary range


Natural Sciences refers to the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Danish Universities under the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

Salary depends on seniority as agreed between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Confederation of Professional Associations.
