Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences at Faculty of Science, the University of Copenhagen has a 3½ year vacancy open in project management and analysis of bio-oils. The position is 37 hours per week starting from
1 August 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.
About us The Analytical Chemistry Group hosts the Research Centre for Advanced Analytical Chemistry (https://plen.ku.dk/english/research/env_chem_phys/ac/). The centre operates on multiple levels in the value chain, going from fundamental research to education and application of analytical methods, often in collaboration with industry.
We are a very dynamic group of approx. 30 people working on various aspects of analytical chemistry, from basic analytical chemistry to chemical fingerprinting of a wide variety of sample matrices. We work with projects in Denmark as well as abroad and work closely with a number of industrial partners.
Tasks The tasks are to manage and support the internal administration of the project UPBIO including planning of meetings to ensure fulfilment of milestones and deliverables. Furthermore, the tasks include work on optimizing one-dimensional and multidimensional chromatographic analytical workflows for bio-oils; data treatment of SFC-HRMS and multidimensional chromatographic data; and article writing. In addition, assignments may include the application of other multidimensional techniques, such as GC×GC-MS and data treatment of bio-oils; supporting supervision of MSc students and a PhD student performing research on the project UPBIO or related projects; maintaining and improving the high standards and quality in the analytical laboratories.
We expect - MSc or Ph.D. with experience in analytical chemistry
- Experience with project management
- Practical experience with analytical chemistry (such as SFC- or LC-MS and LC×SFC, LC×LC or GC×GC-MS analyses)
- Experience with chemical analysis of bio-oils
- Experience with programming languages is advantageous (e.g., R, Matlab or Python)
- Can interact and collaborate with scientists, technicians and students in an international environment
- Can work in project groups where collaborative efforts are needed to achieve the objectives
Terms of salary and employment The employment and salary are made in accordance with the Circular on the Collective Agreement concerning academics in the state sector concluded between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
Employment will be as academic employee. The salary is based on seniority. Negotiation for salary supplement is possible. The working hours are 37 hours per week on average. The working hours are flexible.
