Department of Computer Science at Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen is looking for an Academic Officer with effect from 1st March, 2026 – 28 February 2027.

About us
The Machine Learning Section is a part of the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of SCIENCE, University of Copenhagen and the ELLIS Unit Copenhagen (https://ellis.eu/). The department is heading two centers within Artificial Intelligence: the SCIENCE AI Center and the Pioneer Center within Artificial Intelligence.

Tasks
The position advertised for the Academic Employee at the Machine Learning section, Dept. Of Computer Science will be expected to carry out the following tasks in collaboration with Tenure Track Assistant Professor Raghavendra Selvan:

1. Maintain software tools and update them, which would include updating parameters in scripts for new samples.

2. Document the software tools in descriptive language as a form of logging.

3. Review reports written based on research activities by other members in the project.

We expect

  • BSc in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar for tool development and optimization is mandatory.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written English skills.

Terms of salary and employment
The employment and salary is made in accordance with the Circular on the Collective Agreement concerning academics in the state sector concluded between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

Employment will be as academic officer/academic employee. The salary is based on seniority. Negotiation for salary supplement is possible. The working time are 20 hours per week on average. The working hours are flexible.

The University of Copenhagen (UCPH) is in the process of implementing a new joint administrative organization and new workflows, which will bring changes in the coming years.
