40% of global CO2-emissions and more than a third of all waste comes from the construction sector. We’re also using scarce resources and are responsible for huge losses of biodiversity and natural habitats. Basically, the construction sector needs to change radically to stay within planetary boundaries.

At Circue, we’re a small, dedicated, and multidisciplinary team who has been working as part of a Grand Solution research project on concepts and prototypes for several years. Now we’re taking the next step towards vs. 1.0 of our digital platform that will fundamentally change the construction sector towards more circularity

Our project addresses critical issues within circular construction, such as limited knowledge about materials embedded in our buildings, uncertainties related to responsibility and risk, lack of traceability, and a fragmented value chain.

We are determined to pave the way for a more sustainable construction future in close collaboration with the entire construction value chain and our research partners.

We need you!
We are urgently looking for an experienced full stack developer with a proven track record to join our team in implementing a range of innovative tools that support decision-making, collaboration, and circularity in the construction sector.

Key goals in 2024
As part of the team, you’ll be working on several related tools, which are all part of our digital collaboration hub for circular construction:

• An automated resource mapping tool using open data and research-based typology analysis, providing building owners with crucial decision support, focusing on embedded materials and CO2 footprint.
• A digital building and materials database to enhance transparency and foster collaboration among stakeholders across the value chain.
• A market exchange for secondary materials, promoting recycling by offering the industry an overview of available materials across several marketplaces and material hubs.

We have several other projects in the pipeline, which you will be able to work on and influence going forward.

By joining our team, you'll play a vital role in strengthening collaboration among stakeholders in the construction value chain. Your work will help us collect and leverage data to create new knowledge throughout all phases of circular construction.

What we're looking for:

• +5 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role
• Experience in developing web applications
• Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, Json, jQuery)
• Knowledge of back-end languages (e.g. Php, Node.js)
• JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React)
• Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB)
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Great attention to detail
• An analytical mind

Nice to have

• A passion for sustainability and innovative solutions in the construction industry
• And eye for UX and the aesthetics of web design
