Are you eager to make a difference in the green energy transition, working towards a fully carbon neutral, sustainable energy system? Do you enjoy working in a diverse and international team balancing many stakeholders?
Nordic RCC – supporting security of supply and the green energy transition
Nordic Regional Coordination Centre (RCC) provides critical services and insights to support the national Transmission System Operators (TSOs) in Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark — to ensure the efficient operation and use of the Nordic power system and high security of power supply at any time.
Based in Copenhagen, Nordic RCC is one of six RCCs in Europe, equally owned by the Nordic region's four electricity TSOs: Fingrid, Statnett, Svenska Kraftnät, and Energinet.
As European power systems integrate and evolve to meet climate goals, Nordic RCC provides regional coordination, integrated services, regional insights and recommendations to the Nordic TSOs and their control centres, to support cross-border operational security 24/7.
Join Nordic RCC, a fast-developing company determined to make a significant impact in the energy sector and to provide for a secure and efficient transition to the green, sustainable energy system.
Right now, we are looking for a Product Owner who likes to make a difference!
Job description: Product Owner – NorCap (Flow-Based Capacity Calculation & Common Grid Model)
Nordic RCC is looking for a Product Owner to take end-to-end ownership of NorCap, a core tool supporting flow-based capacity calculation and common grid modelling across the Nordic power system. In this role, you will contribute directly to shaping development that supports efficient system operation and a high level of operational security across the Nordic power system.
This is a high-complexity role at the intersection of regulation, power system operations, IT architecture, vendors, and multiple internal services. You will not work alone — your main value is creating structure, alignment and clarity so that the right things are built at the right time.
The role is well suited for someone who enjoys turning complex input from many stakeholders into clear priorities, roadmaps and decisions — and who is comfortable working in an environment where “the right answer” is often the result of dialogue rather than data alone.
Responsibilities
You will act as Product Owner for NorCap across its full lifecycle, with a strong focus on alignment and value creation:
Build and maintain a clear product roadmap, pipeline and backlog, balancing regulatory requirements, operational needs, architectural constraints and development capacity
Act as the main point of alignment between regulation, methodologies, services, operations, architecture, IT, quality assurance and external vendors
Translate complex and sometimes conflicting input from stakeholders into clear priorities, decision proposals and trade-offs
Work closely with a project manager and architects to sequence initiatives, manage dependencies, and maximize delivered business value rather than feature volume
Ensure a strong user and operator perspective, including change management and adoption of new functionality
Track progress against roadmap and proactively highlight risks, inconsistencies, or opportunities for simplification and quality improvement
Support transparent communication and reporting on end‑to‑end product delivery, including scope, timing and assumptions
The list of tasks will develop over time, and you will work together with the Capacity Manager to structure the role, so it fits your profile and career development.
Requirements
You do not need to “tick every box” to apply. We value complementary profiles and learning ability.
Experience & background
Higher education (MSc or equivalent) in Engineering, Energy Systems, Power Systems, Electricity Markets, Sustainability — or equivalent experience from the energy sector
Experience (typically 5+ years) working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, e.g. product ownership, systems engineering, service development, or similar roles
Experience with product management, including roadmaps, stakeholder and user interaction, documentation, SLAs, budgets and backlog management, as well as close collaboration with application development (design, development, testing and release)
Familiarity with regulated or operationally‑critical environments is an advantage, but not a requirement
How you work
You are highly structured and comfortable breaking down complex topics into manageable decisions
You are able to facilitate alignment between stakeholders with different perspectives, priorities and levels of technical detail
You take responsibility for decisions, while being open to dialogue and feedback
You are comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment at times, without it being the default mode
Collaboration & communication
You enjoy working in diverse, international teams and value perspective differences
You communicate clearly in spoken and written English
You are motivated by roles where success depends on cooperation rather than individual ownership
What we offer
You will be joining a company of competent, diverse, and enthusiastic colleagues. We are currently 25 nationalities with over 30% women (striving to improve this balance) and all ages.
Your daily workplace will be in our newly furnished office premises in Copenhagen Towers, Ørestad. We offer workplace flexibility to ensure a healthy work-life balance, including the possibility to work from home some of the time.
Our values of fellowship, curiosity, respect, and transparency have been defined by all employees. They identify how we behave and shape the way we work together, and we expect you to see yourself in them.
