Are you experienced in vaccine adjuvant research? Then you may be the person we are looking for. About the department Our research focuses on vaccines against major infectious diseases such as Tuberculosis, Chlamydia and Influenza. This work is done in close collaboration with international partners, and we are funded by major foundations including NIH, EU Horizon, the Novo Nordisk Foundation and the Independent Research Fund Denmark. You will work in a department which is highly recognized internationally, and your results will be the basis of patent applications and publications. You will be part of The Novo Nordisk Foundation Initiative for Vaccines and Immunity (NIVI) as part of the group working on design of novel adjuvants for induction of mucosal immune responses
The position The position in the Vaccine Adjuvant group will consist of designing and developing novel vaccine adjuvants, which may be liposomes, emulsions, LNPs and other particle structures. Furthermore, these adjuvants are tested in vivo in in vitro and in vivo. The adjuvant group is well equipped for preparing and characterizing various vaccine adjuvants, and the department has a strong foundation in vaccine testing in various models. There is great independence in the position, and the right candidate is expected to drive research projects forward, and there is also an opportunity to pursue novel research topics.
In addition to research activities, the position requires supervision of PhD and Master’s students, collaboration with internal and external partners, and responsibility for equipment and the adjuvant formulation lab.
Your education, experience and qualifications - PhD in pharmacy (cand.pharm) or similar, with at least 4 years of relevant research experience
- Extensive experience in characterization of various vaccine adjuvants
- A strong immunological understanding that is applied in the adjuvant research
- Strong experience in animal experiments, including planning studies and preparing samples
- Immunological assays, e.g. flow cytometry, ELISA, IVIS
- Have the qualification to own animal experiment permits (FELASA C or similar)
- Qualified to supervise PhD and Master’s students
- Innovative and capable of seeing possibilities in new projects and assays
- A team player that values collaborations both within and outside the research group
- Strong communication skills

Terms of employment The position is a three-year fixed-term employment.
The employment will be in accordance with the terms of the collective agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and the Danish Federation of Professional Associations (AC-overenskomsten), as well as the Danish Ministry of Taxation’s circular concerning the job structure for scientific staff working with research at sector research institutions (Stillingsstruktur for videnskabeligt personale med forskningsopgaver ved sektorforskningsinstitutioner).
Your research qualifications will be assessed by a scientific assessment committee in accordance with the current Danish rules for employment of scientific staff working with research at sector research institutions in Denmark. In order to assess the research qualifications, a list of publications and 2-3 scientific works must be submitted.
