Trace Systems is looking for a Product and Business Development Lead to help shape the next phase of our growth.

This is a cross-functional role at the intersection of product development, commercial development, strategic consulting, and market positioning. You will help strengthen Trace’s product and service offering, identify new commercial opportunities, and turn complex insight work and AI capabilities into scalable products, client solutions, and market-facing offers.

The role requires a strong strategic and operational profile. You should be comfortable moving between concept development, service and product packaging, client dialogue, and practical execution. You do not need to be a specialist in every technical discipline, but you must be able to create direction, structure, and momentum across multiple workstreams.

The role

As Product and Business Development Lead, your core mandate will be to help Trace turn complex insight and AI capabilities into stronger products, clearer commercial offers, and more scalable ways of working.

You will work closely with Trace leadership across internal development, commercial shaping, and selected client engagements.

You will:

• Help shape and strengthen Trace’s product and service offering into more modular, repeatable, and scalable offers

• Identify and develop new product opportunities, use cases, and delivery formats

• Translate complex insight work into clear frameworks, propositions, and client-facing solutions

• Support business development with both new and existing clients, including offer development, proposals, and early dialogue

• Contribute to selected client engagements, especially in scoping, workshops, and strategic recommendations

• Build structure and momentum across cross-functional development initiatives

• Work closely with leadership to define priorities, shape new opportunities, and strengthen Trace’s market position

What we’re looking for

Our ideal candidate brings experience from product development, business development, strategy, innovation, consulting, or a related field. We are looking for someone who combines structured thinking, commercial understanding, and practical execution.

You likely have experience with:

• Developing products, services, or strategic offers in a structured and commercially relevant way

• Turning complex problems or insight material into clear solutions, frameworks, and recommendations

• Working across multiple projects and priorities at the same time

• Supporting or leading workshops, stakeholder processes, or client-facing development work

• Contributing to business development, proposal development, or market-facing initiatives

• Working in dynamic environments where roles and priorities evolve over time

It is a plus if you:

• Have experience from consulting, innovation environments, or interdisciplinary product organisations

• Have an interest in AI, emerging technologies, and their practical application in business and client settings

• Are comfortable working across both strategic and hands-on tasks

As a person, you are:

• Structured and able to create clarity in complex and evolving contexts

• Commercially minded and able to identify and develop opportunities

• Strong in communication, with the ability to turn ideas into concrete actions and outputs

• Collaborative and credible in working with both colleagues and clients
