The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen is seeking top early-career researchers for a number of attractive one- to three-year postdoctoral positions.

The salary is very competitive and researchers from outside Denmark may qualify for a reduced tax rate (see terms below).

The Department of Mathematical Sciences has strong research groups in many areas of mathematics, and has an active postdoc and visitors' program. Applicants in all areas of mathematics covered by the research groups of the department will be considered. In particular, there will be postdoc stipends in the following specific areas/centers of the department:

The postdoc’s duties will include research within mathematics as well as teaching.
The teaching load is typically two quarter (half-semester) courses per year, of which one usually is as a teaching assistant. The post may also include performance of other duties.

The position is open with starting date in 2026, ordinarily September 1st or October 1st.

Terms of employment

The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State. Negotiation for salary supplement is possible. After the expiry of the deadline for applications, the authorized recruitment manager selects applicants for assessment on the advice of the Interview Committee. We expect to send invitations for interviews in December 2025 or January 2026. The interviews will typically take place in January and February of 2026, and our search is expected to be concluded around April 2026.
