Introduction
The Software Engineering section at the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute, University of Southern Demark (SDU Odense Campus) invites applications for a 20-month full time postdoc position with the possibility of extension for the project SECUREAM: Advancing Cybersecurity in Additive Manufacturing in the intersection of blockchain, cryptography, software engineering, and applied formal methods, starting February 1, 2026 (the specific start date will be agreed with the successful candidate).
The SECUREAM project directly addresses the evolving cybersecurity challenges in AM by developing a comprehensive security framework through close collaboration between academic and industry experts. While the primary focus of the project is on enhancing cyber resilience across digital AM processes and workflows, the framework is also designed to be adaptable to the stringent requirements of high-value and mission-critical component production, where robust security and traceability are imperative. Its aim is to secure AM supply chains, safeguard data integrity and confidentiality, and support compliance with emerging regulations, thereby meeting the rising demand for certified, secure AM solutions.
What we expect
We seek candidates with expertise in blockchain and cryptographic technologies and/or applied formal methods to address critical security challenges in the AM domain. The research will focus on developing and scaling novel solutions to ensure end-to-end integrity, traceability, and confidentiality. The project aims to create a resilient AM workflow secure against threats from compromised system components.
