Do you want to help build the IT backbone behind the world’s largest driverless S-train system? Are you motivated by turning a complex rail transformation into reliable, everyday operations for thousands of passengers? As DSB prepares for driverless S-train operations in Greater Copenhagen, we are creating a new Operations Lead role to ensure that both DSB and our suppliers are ready to operate and maintain the IT systems that will support the Future S-Network.
You will join an international program of specialists who are transforming the S-train network into a fully automated, driverless transport system, underpinned by robust IT operations and maintenance.
Welcome to IT Operations & Maintenance for the Future S-Network Our team gathers colleagues from engineering, industrial design and operations. We work on control and data centers, OT systems, rolling stock, and infrastructure, all organized within one coherent program.
We collaborate across disciplines, share knowledge openly and solve problems with the overall system performance in mind.
You will join a newly established department responsible for operating the signalling system and the supporting systems for driverless S-train operation. In the first years, your role will be divided between program work and preparing the future operational setup.
“The best part of my job is contributing to a future solution. It’s a pleasure to work alongside highly motivated people with strong skills in so many areas. Being part of ensuring that the future S-bane can be effectively operated and maintained - by introducing new systems, technologies, and integrations, all for the benefit of our passengers - is highly motivating” says
Andreas, who works in the S-network program.
What is the job about? Your main responsibility is to bridge the current program activities with the future operational setup by maturing and implementing a solid maintenance and IT operations framework for a large turn-key contract.
You balance project implementation with future operations and ensure that supplier deliveries, IT/OT technologies and distributed trackside assets are translated into reliable, contract-compliant services for driverless S-train operations.
On a typical day, you work closely with suppliers and internal specialists to clarify requirements, align expectations and solve issues related to maintenance and IT operations.
You support technical teams in shaping tools and processes, coordinate inputs across the Future S-Network program and DSB IT and follow up on progress and risks.
You prepare and participate in meetings where you discuss governance, performance, upcoming milestones and operational readiness with key stakeholders.
In addition, you will - Review and sign off on supplier reports and the service and maintenance operational handbooks
- Plan and run governance with suppliers and internal and external stakeholders in line with the contracts
- Monitor service and maintenance performance against contract requirements and initiate corrective actions when needed
- Contribute to ongoing improvements of maintenance and IT operations processes as the system moves from implementation to stable operation
Who are you? We are looking for someone who thrives in a multi-disciplined environment, where structure, initiative and collaboration are key.
You are motivated by working on a digital railway that is still under development and by the diversity that comes with it.
Furthermore, you can handle multiple stakeholders and tasks at the same time, while keeping a clear overview and focusing on priorities.
Professionally, we imagine that you have - A technical degree e.g. in (railway) engineering or equivalent experience
- Substantial experience from a key role in operating and maintaining complex systems
- Proficient in supplier and contract management
- Experience with IT service management and maintenance of OT systems or components
On top, you are keen to continue learning and developing your skills.
What can DSB offer you?
- Free transportation with DSB
- Flexible working hours and the option to work from home a few days a week
- Access to DSB’s gym and attractive DSB discounts, including fitness centers
- Pension plan and health insurance
- Subsidized lunch scheme and the opportunity to buy food to take home
