The Dost group is looking for a motivated laboratory technician/lab manager with experience in cell culture and strong organizational and communication skills. 2 years position.
About us The newly established Dost lab aims to uncover mechanisms underlying lung regeneration and lung disease using primary human lung organoid models. Lung diseases are among the leading causes of death worldwide and understanding how lung stem cells respond to injury and disease is fundamental for advancing regenerative medicine. Our group develops and applies primary human alveolar and airway organoid models to study the cellular and molecular mechanisms of epithelial regeneration and disease progression. Our goal is to identify therapeutic avenues to restore endogenous lung regeneration in conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Your tasks As our laboratory technician/lab manager, you will play a key role in setting up and organizing the new research group. You will help establish workflows, protocols, and databases that will form the organizational backbone of the lab. You will assist in generating and maintaining organoid lines from human lung tissue and contribute to building a biobank. You will participate in research projects involving organoid assays, genetic engineering of organoids, drug screening, and related approaches, working closely with other group members.
Profile Essential experience and skills:
- A relevant technical qualification (e.g., Laboratory technician degree) and/or MSc-level training
- Experience with cell/tissue culture
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Good interpersonal and English communication skills
- High motivation, reliability, and sense of responsibility
- Enjoyment of international and diverse work environments
Terms of salary and employment Your employment will be at Department of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, NNF Center of Stem Cell Medicine (reNEW), University of Copenhagen. The position is full-time (37 hours per week) and initially for 2 years, and it is open for appointment starting March 15 or April 1 (or after agreement).
Employment as laboratory technician will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and OAO/HK STAT. The position is placed in salary group 3.
Employment as lab manager/academic level will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The monthly salary will be based on the number of years of work experience (seniority).
Depending on qualifications a supplement may be negotiated.
