About us
GAIA is an interdisciplinary consortium that investigates how fine particulate air pollution (PM2.5) drives antimicrobial resistance (AMR) by integrating molecular geobiology, medical microbiology, environmental epidemiology and geochemistry. The project comprises three research objectives spanning aerosol chemistry, epidemiological register studies, and in vivo infection models, and builds a broader One Health platform for future collaborative projects. The project aims to facilitate strong cross-collaboration efforts across the medical and earth sciences by inclusive practices and a framework of academic citizenship values.

Job description
The GAIA Consortium Coordinator will play a central role in facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration and setting up structures to help coordinating both research-supporting and research activities- according to inclusive Consortium values. The coordinator will work closely with the PI, co-PIs, and help facilitate interactions across postdocs, PhD students and external collaborators. The coordinator will be central in setting up meetings and organizational structures for the Steering Committee, Early Career Researcher Council and Advisory Board.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop a structure to ease the PIs’ day-to-day project planning across the main research objectives (RO1–RO3) and their work packages, including timelines, milestones, internal deadlines and follow-up on actions decided in governance bodies.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration between molecular geobiology, clinical microbiology, environmental epidemiology, geochemistry and external partners (e.g. SSI, Rigshospitalet, IGN), including arranging joint meetings, retreats and thematic workshops
  • Plan and coordinate research support activities, such as workshops, regular seminars and networking events as well as coordination of coaching sessions for PIs, key collaborators and consortium postdocs.
  • Support outreach and engagement activities, including public events and communication of materials targeting different audiences.
  • Facilitate the development of workflows and alignment of protocols for sampling and laboratory activity, Data access, transfer and documentation.
  • Coordinate grant development and research expansion activities.
  • Provide support to the Steering Committee, Early Career Researcher Council and Advisory Board: agenda preparation, minutes, action tracking and annual/biannual reporting.
Required

  • Documented experience with research project coordination and/or research support in an academic setting.
  • Documented meeting facilitation and active facilitation of participants with interdiciplinary backgrounds
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to hold an overview of multiple parallel activities and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively and in a solution-oriented manner while supporting an inclusive and constructive work environment.
We offer

  • A key coordinating and facilitating role in an interdisciplinary consortium, seen as a Faculty strategic development area
  • Close collaboration with leading researchers in molecular geobiology, clinical microbiology and environmental epidemiology.
  • A dynamic and supportive environment with strong focus on inclusion, early-career development and cross-sector collaboration
  • We also offer a developmental space where we value thoughtful planning with the goal of achieving meeting facilitation that successfully supports interdisciplinary collaboration and the expansion of collaborator networks.
