About the Position As a Business Developer at UCPH Lighthouse, you will be at the forefront of transforming cutting-edge life science research into tangible solutions with societal value. Your work will involve:
- Spotting opportunities: Identifying and nurturing the commercialisation potential of novel treatments, diagnostics, and medical devices.
- Guiding researchers: Advising research teams on their path to innovation and impact, from the early spark of an idea to forming spin-outs or engaging in fruitful industry collaborations.
- Driving venture building: Working closely with our team to design, refine, and lead venture-building workshops that empower researchers to think entrepreneurially.
- Building bridges: Acting as a proactive member of the pharma and biotech ecosystem, engaging with academia, industry, investors, and other key stakeholders.
What We Imagine You Bring We believe the ideal candidate combines scientific insight with entrepreneurial drive. To succeed in this role, you likely:
- Hold an academic degree in life sciences—possibly complemented by a PhD—and bring several years of relevant professional experience.
- Have a track record in innovation and business development, preferably within pharma or biotech ventures.
- Understand the fundamentals of intellectual property, regulatory frameworks, and commercialisation pathways in health innovation.
- Excel at building relationships, collaborating across disciplines, and inspiring others to pursue ambitious goals.

Salary and employment conditions The position is as special consultant (specialkonsulent), or senior consultant (chefkonsulent) in accordance with the Collective Agreement for Academics in the Danish State. Remuneration in accordance with the AC collective agreement is determined by seniority. It will be possible to negotiate additional supplements based on qualifications. The position is full-time and the average weekly working hours are 37 hours.
