Aalborg University Business School (AAUBS) invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position in International Business. The position is a 4-year fixed-term appointment (37 hours/week) with a planned start date of December 1, 2026, or soon thereafter.
The IB Research Group at AAUBS aims to deliver high quality PBL-teaching, research, and outreach activities in international business to enable students, companies, and society at large to address the grand challenges in an increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) world. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and collaborative faculty dedicated to excellence in cross-cultural teaching and research.

Your work tasks
The IB Research Group seeks a highly motivated and collaborative candidate to fill this position. Research areas will be within International Business with a focus on one or more of the following contemporary areas reflecting the current trends and challenges in the field of International Business:
The successful applicant is required to show evidence of a pipeline of internationally recognised international business-oriented research publications and demonstrate a thought through plan for future research activities. The appointee is expected to be a team player, who will be actively involved in interdisciplinary research initiatives through developing collaboration within the IB group as well as with other research groups in the AAUBS and with Departments across the University. Moreover, we value academic citizenship and will accordingly evaluate the candidate’s ability to contribute to taskforces, research events organization, support of junior scholars, etc.
The appointee will contribute to an engaging and inclusive Problem-Based Learning (PBL) environment at AAUBS. Therefore, a willingness and ability to teach effectively at all levels and an enthusiastic approach to all aspects of teaching is essential. Teaching experience in topics related to international business is an advantage; other teaching experience such as in micro- and macroeconomics is welcome.

Qualification requirements
Appointment as assistant professor requires academic qualifications at PhD level. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment.

Salary and terms of employment
The employment is in accordance with the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Universities (the Appointment Order) and the Ministerial Order on Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities (in Danish) and protocol on certain terms of employment of academic staff at universities (in Danish).
Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the collective agreement between the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations and the state (AC collective agreement) (only in Danish) and protocol on certain terms of employment of academic staff at universities (only in Danish).
There is a mutual probationary period of 3 months for the position.
