The EuroSpA Coordinating Centre is looking for a Project Lead with an interest in research for a 30-37 hours position from March 1st, 2021 – to March 2024 with the possibility for extension.

Who are we ?

EuroSpA is an established Research Collaboration Network within spondyloarthritis (axial spondyloarthritis and psoriatic arthritis), currently consisting of 16 European registries. EuroSpA aims to answer research questions about real-world treatment of spondyloarthritis patients in a European context based on pooling of relevant variables from the individual registries. The collaboration was initiated in 2016. A large number of research projects are in the pipeline, and results from the initial work have been published. The Collaboration is headed by a Scientific Committee with representation from all participating countries and supported by the Coordinating Centre. The collaboration is currently financially supported by a pharmaceutical company through an ”arms-length” principle, but is expected in the future to receive funding from foundations, government agencies and other pharmaceutical companies.

The Coordinating Centre solves a range of essential tasks for the Research Collaboration Network. We assist researchers with study documents, provide feedback on project feasibility and budgets. We organize Scientific Committee meetings (physical and virtual), handle the legal set-up, negotiate contracts with financial sponsors, develop budgets and milestones prior to project initiation and track research projects for budget revision, invoicing and feedback to the financial sponsor. In short – we facilitate the research conducted by researchers across Europe. As Project Lead, you will be faced with multifaceted tasks, initially focusing on finance tasks (e.g. budgeting and invoicing) and on secretarial services for Professor Merete Hetland (e.g. contracting processes, project reporting, updating CV and other documents, various ad-hoc tasks, approx.10 hours/week), while a team member will be on a maternity leave. In parallel, you will be introduced to the overall project management, that will be your primary responsibility from Spring 2022.

The Coordinating Centre is located at Rigshospitalet Glostrup and anchored in Copenhagen Center for Arthritis Research (COPECARE), where also several researchers working with EuroSpA projects are based. COPECARE is a ”EULAR Center of Excellence in Rheumatology” and ”Global Excellence in Health Center” in the Capital Region of Denmark.
